A.   Clarity describes how pure or clear a diamond appears.  All diamonds capture imperfections as the crystal grows; these may be internal (inclusions) or external (blemishes).  Clarity refers to the number, size, nature, and location of these imperfections and, of the 4 C’s, has the greatest effect on the value of a diamond.
