Q. Everyone talks about the 4 C’s of diamond buying; what are these, and how useful are they?

A.  Clarity, cut, color, and carat weight are the four primary variables used to calculate the value of a diamond, but these are NOT the ONLY variables used in this equation!  Table size, fluorescence, and symmetry are just a few of the other factors that influence a diamond’s value and desirability.  As with any major purchase, establishing a relationship with the seller, in this case your jeweler at Petersen Jewelers, will enable you to know that what you are buying is of the quality of your choosing and that the price you pay is fair.
